Account Deletion & Data Retention
Effective from April 9, 2026
At CAARVN, we value your privacy and give you full control over your personal data. You have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated personal information at any time.
How to Delete Your Account
You can initiate the account deletion process directly within the CAARVN mobile application by following these steps:
- Open the CAARVN App on your device.
- Tap on your Profile Icon in the navigation bar.
- Select Profile Settings (the gear icon).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap on Delete Account.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to verify your identity via a One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered email address.
- Confirm the deletion request.
What Happens Next?
Once you confirm your deletion request, your account will enter a 14-day grace period.
- Deactivation: Your profile will immediately become invisible to other users, and you will not be able to offer or book rides.
- Cancellation: If you change your mind, you can cancel the deletion by logging back into the app at any time during the 14-day grace period.
- Permanent Deletion: After 14 days, your account and personal data will be permanently purged from our active systems.
Data That Is Deleted
Upon permanent deletion, the following information is destroyed:
- Personal Identity: Your full name, email address, and phone number.
- Profile Data: Your profile photo, gender, and saved Home/Work addresses.
- Sensitive Documents: Any uploaded Government IDs or Driving Licences used for verification.
- Preferences: Your notification settings and app preferences.
Data That Is Retained
To comply with legal obligations, financial regulations, and to maintain platform integrity, certain data is retained in an anonymized format:
- Transactional Records: Records of rides taken or offered, including dates, routes, and fares. These are decoupled from your identity and associated with a generic "Deleted User" label.
- Safety Reports: If your account was involved in a safety incident or dispute, relevant records may be retained for up to 3 years for legal and security purposes.
- Audit Logs: Technical logs related to system security and fraud prevention are retained for up to 90 days.
Deleting Specific Data Without Deleting Your Account
If you wish to remove specific pieces of information without closing your account entirely, you can do so through the following in-app features:
- Vehicles: Go to "My Vehicles" to permanently delete any vehicle you have added.
- Profile Photo: You can remove or replace your profile photo in the Profile Edit section.
- Addresses: Saved Home and Work locations can be cleared or updated at any time.
